Chakras – Spin up the Energy!

Have you ever wondered if we could have our energies channelized how we want them to be at all times? Sometimes we are joyful, full of positive, and high energy, and at other times we are lethargic and uninterested with mood swings taking over. There can be various reasons that affect us psychologically, physically, mentally or emotionally – and depending on that – our energies drive the way we think, feel and behave. For instance, the day we wake up early, exercise and consume healthy fresh food feels refreshing compared to the day where we are stressed and have no time to relax or eat proper food. All these things that make us anxious, disappointed or disturbed with low or negative energies can be managed by us and we can be the ones to decide about how we want to manage our pranas or the vital energy flow. Yes, that’s true! Let’s dive into these energy centers of our body – the vital source that keeps our energies in place and active.

According to yogic culture, chakras are energy centers or wheels along the spine of the body believed to influence physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Our chakras’ alignment and functioning determine how our energy is flowing and how we conduct ourselves. There are seven main chakras. Chakras are the main focal points of energy throughout the body located along their respective points and are associated with body mind, intellect and overall well-being. They are responsible for aspects like stability, creativity, wisdom, compassion, expressions and most importantly enlightenment. 

When these chakras are aligned and activated i.e when the energy is balanced there is a sense of joy and harmony in body, mind and soul. Doesn’t it sound like a solution for so many of the problems related to health and challenges we encounter in our day to day lives? This can give a holistic approach to bring out a better side of us and we can choose how our energy flows and have a greater impact on how things are done.

So if we decide to enhance our lives, be joyful and energetic, start spinning up those energies and witness an amazing dimension being unleashed. We could implement  simple changes in our routine like waking up early to set our day off with the circadian rhythms and with the natural way our life energies function. This is the best way to start our day with positive energy .

Also practicing yoga brings balance and harmony in the system. Yoga is a conscious process of aligning our body, mind and energies using a combination of physical postures(asanas), breathing techniques(pranayama) and meditation.

Additionally, drinking lots of water to keep the body hydrated, eating fruits, salads, vegetables and a nutritious diet boosts energy levels.  This enhances nutrient absorption leaving us with a healthful body, alert mind and a joyful feeling.
