A well-maintained body is a fantastic machine which will serve us well for as long as we live. Our entire upper body is resting on the hips and lower back, which in turn are supported by our legs. The legs are propelled by the hamstrings, hip flexors, quadriceps, gluteals, and calf muscles. The stronger our lower back, hips and the leg muscles the better our mobility. Bone strength, muscle strength and a healthy nervous system are the three important components of healthy and flexible musculature. Sedentary life style and aging are main causes of the weakening of the hips and legs. A nutritious diet and simple leg exercises will go a long way to keeping those legs strong.
